Where the Mind Blooms:
Author Update

As summer fades into autumn, I always notice a delicate shift in the air and the pace of things. The days begin to change, the light feels different. There is a natural invitation to slow down and allow things to unfold in their own time.
That feels especially fitting while I continue writing my new book, Where the Mind Blooms.
I’m really enjoying the writing process. When I first began, I thought this book might come together a little faster than my first one, especially now that Mak (my 24 year old) is no longer living at home and I have more quiet time to myself.
But somewhere along the way, I realized something.
This is simply my process.
I’m not someone who sits down every morning and writes a certain number of words. I don’t write just because the calendar says it is a writing day. I write when I feel inspired, when the words suddenly feel ready to come.
Sometimes that means several pages seem to pour out almost effortlessly. Other times, I step away for a while and let an idea quietly take shape before I know exactly what I want to say.
And I’ve learned to trust that rhythm.
In many ways, it parallels one of the central ideas in Where the Mind Blooms: growth cannot always be rushed. We can plant seeds, nurture them, give them attention, and create the right conditions, but there is also a season of allowing.
Some things need time below the surface before they are ready to emerge.
This book may take a little longer than I originally expected, and I’m completely okay with that. I want each chapter to feel meaningful, and true to what I hope this book will offer.
Writing has become a journey on its own for me, and rather than rushing toward the finish line, I’m enjoying watching it take shape, one idea at a time.
For now, I’m letting Where the Mind Blooms unfold exactly as it is meant to.
